Laparoscopy Clinic is an independent patient education resource about gynaecological endoscopy — diagnostic and operative laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and minimal-access pelvic surgery. It is written and medically reviewed by a doctor.

Why it exists
Most patients are handed a consent form for an operation they have had ten minutes to understand. What exists online is usually either too thin to answer a real question or written for surgeons rather than for the person having the surgery. This site aims for the space in between: accurate, specific, and readable in one sitting.
The questions that go unanswered are rarely the ones in the leaflet. How long will the shoulder pain last. Whether you can fly three weeks after a myomectomy. What "stage 2" actually means for your chances of conceiving. Those are the questions this site tries to answer properly.
Who writes it
Articles are written and reviewed by a medically qualified author — see the author page for credentials, and the editorial policy for how sources are chosen and how review works.
What this site cannot do
It cannot diagnose you, cannot tell you whether a particular operation is right for you, and cannot replace the surgeon who has examined you and reviewed your imaging. We do not answer individual clinical questions by email or in the comments. Please read the medical disclaimer.
